My clutch pedals been really loose with lots of travel before engaging.
Narrowed it down to a used master cylinder, worn clevis pin and badly worn pedal.
Wanted to go ahead removing the clutch shaft bolt and nut to remove the pedal but then I saw the nut was stripped by the previous owner.

Anyway to get that thing out?
I have a brake servo and a linkage pole across the firewall as it's a LHD.

Anyway to get a stripped nut to turn or remove the pedal? Maybe chop the bolt? I don't know...

A picture of what you are looking at might be an idea.

Generally removing the nut and pressing out the shaft works.

You could try a Nut Splitter in there.

Hopefully, it'll only be the nut. The shafts are a little on the dear side to buy new.

id need one that is open on one side to pass around the shaft. and without heavy modification i doubt it will fit. Theres like 3-5mm of space to grab the nut -.-

"dear side to buy new" as in expensive? oh id not care anymore... Was going to push the mini down the hill after fighting in there for 2 hrs today... ill gladly pay 20 for a new one :P

If you can’t get a splitter on the you need to cut it off. With something like a dremel. Back in the day I would have just got a big sharp chisel on it an removed it that way.

Had to remove mine a few years back, took a hacksaw to the threaded end to remove it. Make sure the new one goes on with plenty of copper slip all over!

how did you get in there? just pushed the blade in and worked it by hand?
Im going to try some grip pliers that ill file down to get in there and see if it budges.... otherwise its like nick said, dremel it out or so... absolutely sucks...

For jobs like this:-   ...   Set out a table and deck chair.  Pour your self a generous measure of your favourite tipple.  gather 2 or 3 hacksaw blades and wrapping the one end in a thick bit of cloth, start steadily sawing, cutting towards you.

In about 10 minutes you will be blissfully happy.

Could you just take the pedal box out? Shouldn't really be any harder than trying to strip & assemble it in situ.

I'm curious how the extended LHD pedal is supported.

I was in the middle of installing soundproofing in the floor so the driver's seat was already out - gave me room to grovel on the floor! Plus as my car is a Mini Marcos then it's a slightly different layout which helps.

I thought about taking the whole pedal assembly out, but that would involve removing the master cylinder for the clutch and i am not sure how the whole brake pedal assembly is mounted as there is the extension from the right hand side where the servo is mounted - across to the pedal on the left behind the heater/under the dash. Id think sawing it out is easier and then buying the replacements than doing all that... PLUS id have to remove the steering column too so meh...

You can get the pedal box out while leaving the Masters 'in place'. A little bit of a fiddle, but definitely do-able.
