Lack Of Fuel In The Injector

Im putting my 96 1275 spi back together - finally installed the new wiring looms and thought I’d try to start.
I have spark, new battery and new fuel. The car is turning over nicely, i hear the pump prime when turning ignition on BUT it wont fire up.
Ive tried pouring some fuel directly into the inlet and hey presto she started but stops as soon as the fuel is used. There appears to be very little fuel coming out of the supply line to the injector.
Obviously Ive fitted new fuel lines so they are dry. I was hoping the pump would force fuel through but im not sure it does.
How best would you prime the fuel lines? Do you think this is the problem ? I was considering detaching the supply pipe at the fuel injector and putting 12v direct to the tank pump to run it and hopefully force fuel through ? Anyone think this a bad idea ? Any suggestions welcome !
Thank you jon

Ive just put 12v onto the fuel pump to run it for a minute or so. Still no fuel.
But I guess fuel in the inlet port must be controlled by the injector ? I unscrewed the fuel inlet pipe and return and fuel is present. Therefore something is not allowing the fuel into the inlet.
Again I dont know but there are a black and white pair of wires running to what must be the injector. There is a black square connector connecting to the throttle body which looks like it may control these 2 wires? Inside the loom running to the connector are 2 wires - a blue/grey and brown/yellow. Could it be for some reason this is not powered and fuel is not being demanded??? If so what will be causing this ? The ECU? I have a blue/grey and yellow/brown going into the ECU if these are the same 2?
Im struggling. Someone must know about these SPI injectors please help ?
Many many thanks
Jon

So, to be clear - You have fuel at the fuel rail, but the injector isn't squirting fuel? Not at all, or just a little bit?

Does the immobiliser cut of fuel supply?

If you look at page 460 of the linked PDF, item 568 is the injector. It has two wires, yellow/brown going to pin 24 of the ECU connector and slate/blue going to pin 1 on the ECU. You should be getting pulses to those terminals while cranking. A voltmeter or a light bulb might show you. I believe it is only about 5 volts. If you have the voltage pulses, then the problem is with the injector. If not, the wiring or the ECU.

Ok i tested at the black connector end. Im getting 5-6v on the grey wire when ignition is turned on but nothing on the yellow wire presumably that correct with the connector unclipped

Ok can i unclip the black connector on the injection housing and test that end ? Its so hard to access the ECU pins

Whilst cranking?

5v on the grey wire with ignition on and also on turnover. Nothing in the yellow
