Hello all,
I have a messy loom that is being removed tomorrow and the new loom is marked up (mostly) and ready to go in.

I am however stumped on the wiring of the fuse box, while referrencing the various wiring diagrams, which seem to fight against what I have.

Part of the problem is that my car was built from a mk3 Cooper into a Clubman body, using bits from each car, the loom being one, which I think was mostly fro the Clubman.

The new loom is more closely linked to my car and it's hardware.
Centre Cooper S dial + water temp and pressure gauges.
Ignition switch on column
Single stalk on column
Toggle switches
Alternator

Anyhoo...
This fuse box...I've looked online to see pictures of other similarly aged fuse boxes but I can't seem to find any.
Attached is a picture of why my loom is coming out....

On the new loom, where the fuse box is located, there are:
4 green connectors
2 purple
3 white (1 is for the elec fuel pump)
1 brown

What goes where?

Well if it's any help:

White is normally unfused ignition live;

Green is fused ignition live;

Brown is unfused permanent live;

Purple is fused ignition live.

One fuse is normally used for ignition live with another being used for accessories in the first key position however this depends on your setup and whether this is a custom loom.

One fuse is normally used for sidelights.

Eermm, I'm still none the wiser.

The wiring diagrams seem to lay it out as per my picture with the whites and brown one side and the purples on the opposite side to the brown and the greens the opposite side to the whites.

With a 2 or 4 space fuse box, I'm still in the same boat and the car is far from original .
It currently has a 4 space one so I just bought a replacement, so it's all new in there.

Pictures would be great if anyone has one or is able to take a snap or two?

4 fuse box versus 2 fuse box

AHHH!!!!
Now I see the difference. It's not just the number of fuses, it's the fact that there are the correct number of blade connections for my loom, unlike the 4 fuse box.

Getting one ordered now!

Enlightened again!!

Unburntfuelinthemorning, I am just going through the same exercise and bringing the loom inside the cabin, out of the wet. (well mostly)

The list of connections and feeds is wonderful.

Thank you very much.
