Police demonstrate how maintaining a safe gap between you and the vehicle in front of you can help avoid you being involved in an accident, even when travelling at 100 mph.

WARNING: a BMW MINI may have been harmed during this filming:

Both of them driving like a-holes. Unfortunately people feel so seperated from the dangers that they feel comfortable being a couple of feet from the bumper in front without a thought of what could go wrong. They get a way with it, right up until the point that they don't!

To be fair, this has nothing to do with how close people drive to each other (which it too close most of the time) - it's a pair of complete pillocks playing stupid games. And we all know what you get when you play stupid games.....stupid prizes!

They're lucky they didn't kill themselves or someone else, all because they wanted to be king of the 'fast' lane.

It does show that, by keeping back, the Police themselves weren't swallowed up in the aftermath

Looks to me like the Mondeo undertook the Mini, pulled in front and then slammed on the brakes.  Probably because earlier the Mini was tailgating the Mondeo, so he decided to teach the guy a lesson.

The sentencing shows that too, both drivers were banned from driving but the Mondeo driver was also thrown in prison for his actions.

Modern cars are certainly made to bounce off of things well but at the expense of lots of extra weight, reduced visibility (more blindspots) and lack of ability to open doors in normal sized parking spaces due to being so wide.

Once again, it shows that the safest way to prang a car is to roll it.
