Spi Horrific Wheel Shake At 65

Best Answer phillrulz , 04 May 2019 - 06:27 PM

Right, what  was behind is now infront and what was infront is now behind.

With a quick 90mph blast up the A40.... I Can happily say not a single steering wheel wobble.

Looks like i have a bad alloy. Guessing driver side as i had previously swapped passenger side as i stuck the car in 1st on axle stands and let the wheel spin passengers side looked more wobbly.

When my local tyre shop moves premises ill take the rear allows over for an inspection, weird thing is they didnt look too bad.

Weird how the bloke balanced them today one was showing like 10/55 and one like 20/65.

Never assume where a Mini is concerned.

How would you even tell the difference between 4" and 100mm ? I was going to measure with a caliper outside to outside, measure hole diameter then take away 1 hole diameter from outside to outside measurement to get centre to centre. But for such a small tolerance dont know if it would be accurate.

Another couple if possibilities,

It could be tyre goo puddled inside the tyre from a puncture, the tyre could be distorted/ defective, or the tyre could have moved(rotated) on the rim or not put on in the right place. Tyres usually have a heavy and light spot, which you line up with the valve. If the tyres been low on pressure or really pushed hard on track this can cause the tyres to "walk" on the rims
