Have some front banging noises when driving on bumpy roads. Have researched all of the postings on this issue and I am down to the knuckles being the culprit. So my plan is to depressurize the system, release the ball joints so the upper arm moves freely. Disconnect lower shock mount. Remove the upper arm pin. Remove the arm for detail inspection. Then check the knuckle/cup and the cup recess. Does this sound like the correct sequence. Anything else missing that needs to be removed to get to the knuckle?

Thks

If there are shock absorbers fitted these are non-standard. I would suggest first taking these off and see what effect this has on the banging noises.

Also if you're taking it down rough roads I would highly recommend fitting the competition front bump stops to give the dspacers an easier time and longer life. Here the link to the Minispares kit C-AJJ4007: https://www.minispar.../C-AJJ4007.aspx

I'm not sure the issue here would be the knuckles and I agree with Carbon's suggestions.

Usually Knuckles squeak (and quite loudly) when they are worn.

Passenger side steering arm Bush?

John makes a good point.

Zami - have you checked the steering rack has correct amount and grade of oil in it? This bush can rattle over rough tracks if the oil level gets low.

The Bush is only on the passenger's side.

Jacked up front of car held each wheel at the 9 and 3 o’clock position. Noticed on drivers side no play but on the passengers side I can move the wheel maybe 1/2”-3/4” before steering wheel turns.

That does sound like it could be the bush and most likely is.

Just before rushing in to overhauling the steering rack, check the Steering Rod End and that the Steering Arm where it's bolted to the Hub is tight first.

Thanks Spider
I am concerned that since I am getting the exact sAme noise from both sides that I may have some other issue. Tomorrow I will go back around again to check that everything is tight including the ams to hub.

Passenger side steering arm Bush?

it turns out that it was the bushing on the passenger side of the steering rack. Once I released the steering rod bearings End I could duplicate the noise in the foot wells. Way to much play. Thanks again for everyone’s input.
