Hey there!

Just like the dashboard directory and the arches thread, we should have a lighting thread. I'm curious as to what people are using, what they want to buy, and whatever new you are seeing out there.

I have LED pretty much everywhere. Switchbacks in the indicators, strips for some under dash lighting. Tails and brake lights as well.

Just waiting on some LED replacements for the driving lights so they are the same temp/colour as the headlights!

Those rear lights look neat the way they're sunk in.  I like them in the boot lid too.

How did you install those 3rd brake light strips? I've been thinking of putting one that also has reverse lights on my mini.

How do you feel about those led halo lights? How's the color temp/ beam shape? I've seen them be way too blue or just throw light all over the place and not be very crisp.

That is a really nice and clean install! Good job.

I've been thinking of putting one of the motorcycle led strips on the back of my mini as a third brake light.

Then take the bottom light and turn that to a reverse lamp and then switch out the rears for MK2 style amber and red lamps.

Thanks.  What do you mean by the bottom light, the fog light?  If you don't have to have it then why not, it's a nice look with mk2 lights.

They are LED specific housings and not LED bulbs in a Halogen housing. Thus the beam is perfect! The color is 6000k white .

It is indeed an underglow to be pround of.

Did you make that front air dam?  I really like that.

Thanks! These were just some cheap ebay lights which ended up breaking after a few months. I've just fitted a quality set from the US which is much better :)

It's actually a mk1 Golf GTI splitter  ;D
