After flooding the boot with petrol from a broken hose, finding the tank full of sludge and rust particles I have fitted new everything including an isolation valve and inline filter. Will the mechanical pump pull the petrol through this installation - just seeking views before I fill the new tank....here is a image. Appreciate any help / views.

Hi all,
After flooding the boot with petrol from a broken hose, finding the tank full of sludge and rust particles I have fitted new everything including an isolation valve and inline filter. Will the mechanical pump pull the petrol through this installation - just seeking views before I fill the new tank....here is a image. Appreciate any help / views.

It will drain back every time the engine is stopped and the fuel level is low..
I would put the filter under the car.

Oops - didn’t I think that through! That said, Why doesn’t the fuel line then drain back into the tank as the pump and carburettor are higher that the exit point from the tank.
