Spare parts on the way Chris - Should - Fingers crossed - be there tomorrow with you !

Make sure the earth lead from the dizzy to earth plate on which the condenser and points is in its place This is the brown braided one. These can also fail, so be sure it has continuity

Coil is bang on, started a 1500 from cold this morning first key and ohm values are all there, primary and secondary values

1.5 primary - 7.5 secondary

Yes we have life!!!
And running smoother and happier than ever

Turned out to the be coil as the main problem but I’m sure the new leads, plugs and distributor cap have helped!

Thanks to Neil for his help and quick supply of parts!
And thanks to everyone on here who’s given me tips and advice on this problem

Fingers crossed I don’t get any more problems between now and when I’m due to drive a brides mother to the church in a couple of weekends!
