Topic title is pretty much it. I've accidentally bought a DLB105 for a 1380 I was doing then learnt it's the wrong could for what that setup will be. So I'm wondering if I could use it on my 998 A+ 59D I currently have in my car? I am aware its notorious for failure but my current coil is more so.

Don't see the problem. Think its the standard 12v coik. Just don't use the pink ballast wire if you have it. You'll need to feed it with 12v from the fuse box if that's the case.
