Hi all, I've got a problem with a few bit of wiring. First off my Hazard switch/light doesn't work. The actually light for the switch doesn't come on either, but the indicators work fine. Secondly my horn doesn't work but it did recently work then not work again so is this a bad ground?. Last but not least my high beams don't seam to work... If I click the stalk forward for constant high beam the blue light comes on the Speedo dash. But turns my lights to just side lights???. Any help is appreciated. Oh all 4 fuses are good. Oh yeah... Where should this black wire go is it factory or has someone messed around??

Cheers Reece

You need a new stalk, which will mean you need to remove the steering wheel.

try cleaning the connectors near the grille (Blue with a white stripe if i remember correctly) for the main beam

Hazards check to see if the relay is working (near the wiper motor under the bonnet)

For the horn check the connector on the horn and clean it.

failing that a new stalk is needed :) as for the black wire black normally means earth but i'm not too sure :)

On my old switch, the black goes down inside the centre of the switch with the black and purple. Changed mine not too long ago got a lucas one from Ebay, just need to take the steering wheel off, very easy job. So long as you have a socket large enough.

I think black is to do with the horn. Most likely the live fees into the stalk the purple it shares the connection with is the live feed to the light flash / horn.
