Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but this thread may - hopefully - be of use to other.
I need to mount an Ipad in a vehicle. I've made my own mount for it in the Moke, but I need to be able to put it in another vehicle.
I was wondering if others have needed to do this and what they did for a mount?
I'd prefer something 'off the shelf' this time around (time's a little short!) but would consider something home brew as well.

Note that when you use wireless inside a vehicle, it's a partial Faraday cage and the device needs to ramp up its output to be able to connect. This increases your exposure to the harmful microwave radiation which is also bouncing around inside the vehicle for yet more of an increase in exposure.

Many thanks. I am quite impressed with these, they do look better engineered than so many others. Where I'm having trouble though is how any of these attach to the vehicle. I probably should have mentioned this in my opening post, but I'm fitting it in to a borrowed vehicle and so need to avoid drilling holes etc, if you was mine, I'd screw it in somewhere ! While windscreen suction cup mounts are about, some better than others, I was hoping to get some inspiration from something alternative. I'll look a bit harder at these though.
< EDIT: I poked around for a local distributor of these, who I did find one none too far away at all. They have a HUGE range of mounting kits for all manner of vehicles (not Mokes though!) and a suitable holder. I'll order one shortly. I owe you a beer for that - Thanks

Cheers for that and yes, this is quite true.
I don't have a SIM card fitted to the device, I hardly know how to drive it if I'm honest - I'm not 'IT friendly' !! I use it for off-road mapping. As an example of the types of maps, if you look in this thread http://www.theminifo...munn-run-2018/ you'll see some screen shots (I thought I was pretty big time being able to do those !!)

I did find a local supplier for this gear, only, when I called, he didn't have stock of what I was after and after chatting with them, what I thought I wanted wasn't quite suitable.
None the less, they did offer a solution in this brand of gear, only again, nil stock. None the less, they said they'd get it in from Sweden in 2 days for me at no extra cost. True to their word, they did
I had to do some small fabrication work to fit up the mount (which I knew I'd have to do) and after covering just over 8000 km of some rough outback tracks, it never missed a beat. It really is great gear.

No, I still do. We have many 'Interesting' name places around Australia. The PC brigade are trying to have some of them changed, but so far, they haven't had any success - thank goodness.
