Not looking to go really low, but just got a nice wheel/arch gap.

 

Will check the table out, on first looking can't see any Protech on there, be good to hear others experience with which length Protech they have gone for and the result

for the protec you will have to see what lengths they do. and then see how they compare.

 

and shock length has nothing to do with ride height it is to do with stopping your suspension falling out.

I've had the kayaba gas adjust and they are very good. Much better than most and can lower without bottoming out as the compressed measurement is short. I have never tried the protech ones so can't compare.

How could lowering cause a damper to bottom out? Fully compressed length is the same regardless of ride height.

Having the car lower makes the shock closer to it's fully compressed length, the rubber cone will compress the same standard height or lowered. so the lowered cars bottom out. My standard length Gas shocks bottomed out, put lowered protects on and is fine.

This is the reason why you can buy hi-lo kits with standard height kayaba gas adjust dampers as the compressed measurement is shorter than many standard height dampers. The only downside is that the standard height dampers could possibly allow the trumpets to fall out if you was to take off over a bump. Never seen it happen though.

only and I repeat only if you have remove or altered the external and internal bumpstops. otherwise there is no change.

I'm interested too on going a tad lower than standard but not silly low.

Trying to work out best wsy to do it.

Here, some recent photos at the bottom of page 48, it's not that low, does rub on the back sometimes.

Can't work out if they are shagged or just old age is catching up with me.

My Protechs (with red spot front rubbers) don’t feel harsh at all.

I've just changed to red spots thinking it would make a massive improvement over the 20 year old collapsed cones which is has not.
Sounds like the gaz have given up? Might be time for protechs.
