Had a new front end done about 4 years ago. The mini hasn't been on the road since then. I noticed the front subframe mounts looked like they were coming apart so decided to remove them. I've put the upper bolt in and lined up the locating pin, but I'm finding that the hole through the front panel is a good 1/2 inch lower than the hole in the subframe. What's the best way to get it in line? It's giving me a right banging headache!

You tried Jacking it up under the back of the subframe to take the weight?

Whereabouts exactly should I try this?

I just did it. loosen the mount on the back of the subframe - do not take it off. Then support the front of the subframe with a second jack slightly until the hole is right. I had to lift the body a little bit in front the get the holes lined up correctly.

Hi, do you mean the mount connected to the front floor? Did you have alignment troubles before doing this? I've done one side but the other side is the bolts width out at the mo.

Correctly. There are 2 Bolts which you should loosen a little bit. Do not take off. If the hole of the front panel is lower than the hole in the subframe take a strong piece of wood, put it under the two license plate holders and slowly and carefully lift it up until the holes meet.

I did it this way and it worked fine.

Thanks for the tips! Worked a treat, I also undone the tower bolts a little then levered on the turret. What a swine of a job but now seems easy!
