Heard it on the radio,

 

What I hadn't realised was he was back racing just 40 days after that horrendous crash.

 

That timescale sounds biblical - his character and courage clearly was.

Just heard it on the news about 10 mins ago.

Very sad. He had balls and brains.

 

They don't make them like that anymore.

Definitely had the balls! Only missed two races after his accident as he had a helmet made specifically for him to race with his injuries!

 

Will be missed - Race In Peace.

In April '68, he acquired a Mini Cooper, and, without his parents' knowledge, made his competition debut with second place at a hillclimb."
