I have a 50 litre compressor -  a Draper, its fine for tyre inflating etc but not up to running a 1/2" impact gun. If I was buying a new one Id definitely go bigger.

(I have a nice litte 18V Ryobi impact wrench which is a nice bit of kit.)

I have found that I need a minimum 1/2" bore hose (depending on length) to run an impact tool.

Interesting, I have 10mm air hose. Do you think the 50 litre would be up to the job with just a bigger diameter hose?

I tend to find if I drain the air, then the fuse doesn't blow on mine. Otherwise the pump is trying to work against the pressure.

Mine is an old ABAC and for the impact gun alone it is worth it. I will have to invest in a hole punch and small grinder soon, I reckon.

I do have a small Clarke 50 litre I roll around to check tyre pressures which is very handy I find.
