Another way is to remove it, have it welded up and then smart repaired.

Maybe an exposed CF double skin boot lid? Save you having to worry about matching the paint. I think it would look nice with the blue and you can always keep the existing lid as is incase you change your mind.

Use the hole for a smoke screen dispenser.

If you think it does then you'll be happier without it. Some people like them some don't. They were fitted to rally Minis and looked the part on them. They're very good too if you do a lot of reversing in dark places.

Sure i read somewhere these are now a mot failure ?
Due to quite understandably the possibility of blinding oncoming vehicles approaching from the rear.

It wouldn't be legal to use one the road as a reversing light as the maximum wattage for a reversing light is 21 watts.
As long as it's not connected to come on automatically when reverse is selected but can only be turned on manually and is fitted with a warning tell-tale I say it's fine. Just be sensible when using it.

You could take the Lucas light off and move the rear foglight up from below the bumper by making a small aluminium bracket to go where the rev. light was. Then blank off the holes in the rear valence which has the advantage of reducing the auto-rusting effect around that area. the rear foglight looks better higher up and is less likely to fail.

If you don't want that old Lucas fog light, remember that they are worth a fair bit these days.
