Hi guys. What finish (matte, satin, gloss etc) were black color engines originally? Cheers.

Depends on the year of the car, up to around 69ish they were bmc green, 70ish to 80ish matt black, 80ish onwards 998 yellow, 1275 red.

But Coolstuff wants to know the finish not the colour.

I used Halford high temp satin paint and the finish was very nice
