Is there a van buying guide on the forum?

They either seem to be clubman estates or a van has MK1 hinges on the outside of the door? Is that right?

When were they produced from?

What engines should they have in them?

Some that I see advertised look very dodgy indeed! I don't want to waste my money on a bad one.

I recently brought a MGBGT and thought there might be more room in there for me.

I HATE the car, it's a great car but just not for me.

I have a mini Clubman 998 and I like the seating position, they way it handles.

I just wish it had a bit more power so I could take it on motorway journeys.

I have owned the MG for two weeks and I think I might be selling it soon, I just prefer my mini.

To answer some of you questions, vans had mk1 doors throughout production; they were made I think between 1960 and 1982; they were fitted with 848cc or 998cc engines.

As above. The 1275 engines will bolt straight in with only bolt on parts needing changed, something to consider.

I find a van to be quite cramped compared to my Clubman Estate, you simply can't beat a 1275 powered mini, so if you do remove the current engine I'd also change the clocks so you can prove the mileage of your 998
