Hi guys, soon my mini will be getting the vmax treatment with a nice little super charger , first time owning a supercharged car let alone after market.

Is it stupid to ask , any do’s and don’t in regards to maintenance and driving.

id imagine its the same as a turbo'd car where you should let the oil warm up properly before booting it.

Sounds pretty standard, when I bought my mini the guys said , “ let her warm up then give her all you got “ haha

I was never a fan of the green stuff pads, its either std or Mintex 1144's for me ( depending on usage)

How bad is the mpg of a supercharged 998 stock engine for daily driving?

It'll run richer and use more fuel.

Oh, it is not that much worse if you are driving sedately, but if you are 5 minutes behind schedule, and pass up a filling station, the needle seems to sink to Empty very quickly.

as a rough guide i could get 45ish on a run ( steady 50-60ish) from my 1380 7 port turbo, most large bore turbos seem to be similar if well set up, charged 1275's seem to be down around mid 30's for similar, so i guess your looking at high 30's from a  998, and round the houses down in the 20's.

Regards mpg. Is that because of the lower CR you have to run with charged engines. Or simply because you are turning the charger
