Hey everyone.

With the IMM drawing closer day by day, I thought using TMF would be an opportunity for people new and old to the scene to get to know one another before the event :)
Having only owned a Mini for about 3 months myself, I would say that I don't really know many people on here as of yet (though i'm sure i will in time) and i'm sure there are a few users out there who're probably in the same boat as me.

Feel free to write a short bit about yourselves and your car/s in this and we'll see how many respond.

I look forward to meeting whoever replies at the event in a few months time. :)

Admins, if there's a better place for this topic than in "Mini Chat" feel free to move it.

As i started this topic, I suppose i'd better start off.

I have a 1991 Rover Mini City 998cc in blue named Millie which as said, i have owned for almost 3 months and loving it so far. Planning on going to plenty of events in the future with the car but it will be in no way a trailer queen. It was bought to be enjoyed on the road. So far i have added a stereo system to the car as i like my music and have so far given it a 1960s vibe with a wavy Austin grille (later model shape, not Mk1), P700 lights and Astrali bullet mirrors.
So far in my ownership, I have taken the car to the Midlands for the Himley Hall Mini day which was all good fun. If you haven't tried the Italian Job Bus with your car, I would definitely recommend. Makes for some very good photos, haha.
I am from the Salisbury area, anyone know of any local clubs around? I am part of DEWS (or Downton Motor Club as they go by these days) and the British Mini Club.

I am 22 and have always had an interest in the Mini and put it as a personal dream vehicle so being in the position to buy one this year was awesome of course. This does not mean however that i underestimate how much work they can potentially be compared to more modern vehicles. The Mini is a learning curve for me personally and one I look to improve my as of now 'limited' mechanical skills either repairing or upgrading certain parts in due course.

Look forward to meeting you all at the IMM!.

I bought my 91 mini 998 about 2 years and just kept it sit until recently when I decided to start driving it rather than letting it die slowly. I knew almost nothing about these cars but i have been learning and slowly doing some upkeep as the time arises. Mostly I gave been replacing/upgrading things to make the car more liveable. Next on the list is rebuild the selector box and I am hoping to pick up enough new parts this weekend at beaulieu to redo the aging suspension.

I live in guildford and I am not in any clubs. No one I know has minis or has ever had one so it's just me.

I've been into minis as far back as i can remember, and purchased my first one in 2001, which i still own now.... along with another 7! I intend on bringing my red Mayfair to the IMM, along with my 1975 clubman estate (driven by my Mum) and my mini pickup (if its roadworthy in time) driven by my partner. hopefully will get to see some of you guys there!!
