Your thoughts please,

Which of the rust converters currently available would you recommend I apply to a small patch of rust beneath a bubbled area of paint just above the wheel arch plastic trim on a 1994 Mini Sprite (Fertan rust converter for example) and would carefully drilling out the pot-rivets release the trim so that I can see what lies beneath(!)?

I use deox c gel but you need to treat both sides. I also find metal prep pretty good after treatment as it leaves a zinc phosphate layer to help paint adhere and offer some protection. But still give it a good wire brushing before treatment.

Another recommendation for Deox Gel here but sticking to the instructions is vital for best effect.
