I am de rusting and old Rocker Cover to use temporarily. Would Halfords Etch Primer be ok to stop it flash rusting or do I need a high temp primer?

I used the Techniq branded stuff from ebay and it worked fantastic. Probably the best etch primer i have ever used. I have the halfords stuff too but it doesnt work nearly as good as the Techniq brand. I never cared for the halfords bond to previously dirty parts. On new it works ok but old valve covers and such i think it would only last a short while. It should be ok for the heat however. Ive used it on motor cases before with good results. It does go on thick so be mindful.
