Hi guys, on my mpi there is a throttle restriction plate/bracket at the throttle body,
Is there any gain in taking/modding thus for full throttle?
Thanks?

It was a modification that was done on the original MPI Cooper S.

Haven’t heard of anyone that says it makes a difference, though it does sound logical to remove any restriction

I did the original modification to mine by grinding it back with a dremel using an ARC4 code reader and got the butterfly to fully open. Didn’t really notice anything different, perhaps on a race tune engine on a track the difference might be slight.

A clean K&N filter on the other hand does make a wee difference to the breathing.
