Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me if there are different sizes for the front swivel hub on my mk2 cooper?

I recently replaced my swivel hub but when i tried to put it all together realised that the disc which is

a 7 inch one would not go over the hub?....does anybody know if there is a smaller diameter hub or

are they all the same size these days, please note my cooper is completely standard with the 7 inch brakes througout.

Thanks Andy :ohno:

Not experienced this problem myself but I'm sure I've read about someone experiencing the same problem. Think I might have read about it over on the mk1 Performance forum, worth a search on there.

The earlier Disc Hubs are smaller on the OD on the 'nose' of them and the 7.0 and 7.5" discs often won't fit over the later types.

You can machine down the OD of the bearing tunnel to that of the originals. Leyland 'beefed them up' (the later types) to stiffen them so that bearing life would be increased.
