I’ve got a metro turbo engine fitted but no hoses. It has a sandwich plate fitted too. Does anyone have a diagram on what hoses I need or give me some help.
Where does the sandwich plate take off link to?

All I have at the moment is the hose from the heater to the tap on the block and
Thermostat hose to radiator.

I’ve bought this hose but worried it’s the wrong one.

I know I need a metal connector from this pipe but not sure where to

I presume you mean head as there are no water take off on the block.

so you can bin the sandwich and just plumb as per standard Mini. so that hose is fine.

Yes I meant head sorry not sure why I said block
I read somewhere that the way an spi is plumbed in is the best way to keep the engine cool. Is that right? That’s why I thought I’d keep the sandwich plate

the best way is to take water from the head take off and have it always running through the heater.

so no sandwich.

basically the sandwich replaces the head take off. but the head take off helps keep 3 and 4 from getting too hot.

Oh ok .so the tap thats on my turbo head has been drilled out and put on for the mini setup? So like you say I can do away with the sandwich plate. Great thank you.

So the take off on the new bottom hose I’ve bought will link to the heater matrix?

yes but it is the return from the heater matrix. the one on the head is the feed.

Got it. Simpler than I first thought. Just want to get stuff right. Ive built many Vw engines but ventured into the mini world and not 100% on them so I’m grateful for people being patient and answering my daft questions
