Still getting my head around this engine.
So the actuator goes to the turbo and I’ll have a bleed valve between the two.
In the pic, what would the other turbo outlet for

Looks like the T connector from a Metty Turbo. One hose went to the waste gate actuator another went to a solenoid valve that modulated (reduced) the boost with the intent of saving the gearbox from the excessive mid range torque. There was an electronic control unit sensing rpm and boost via a pipe on the plenum chamber.

Thought I'd add it can still be useful, if you fit a bleed valve you can use it to adjust (upwards only) when the waste gate opens. Or you could fit the solenoid valve and control it with megajolt or similar.

As above, the extra leg went to the ECU. Block it off or run a bleed valve from it.

Cheers. I have the ecu and solenoid valve still. Is it just easier to sack them off and run a bleed valve?
Does the bleed valve vent to air then if I connect it direct to the turbo rather than online with the actuator.

If it’s a normal 3legged bleed valve it vents to air in whichever configuration you have it.

one side to the waste gate, the other side was used to bleed off pressure and delay the waste gate opening until you had more boost.

Either way the waste gate actuator itself sets the lower limit. From memory it's only 3-4 psi with the original Metty Turbo one. If you want more boost you'll need a bleed vent or a different actuator can.

Thanks again guys. Could I run a boost gauge off it? Aswell as running the bleed valve then?

The boost gauge should go to the inlet manifold to give you a true reading of the boost the engine is receiving.

Cheers Phil.
