Hi Guys,

Just looking for a bit of advice on how much people would expect to pay for the below car:

I'm in the early stages of negotiating a price for a 1973 morris mini clubman in standard orange (its been resprayed in its original colour)

Its fitted with a 1275 metro engine that was fitted 20 years ago and has never had any work done to the engine.

The car has pretty sound bodywork and doesn't look to be needing any work done on it.

The owner is the 2nd owner from new, his dad was the first before he inherited it.

Its got electronic ignition with 7.5 brakes

Its got MR2 front seats but he also has the original seats for it.

Its got 5months MOT left on it with a number of things that came up as minor's on the last mot:

oil leak, brake disc backing plate insecure, front wheel have slightly noisy and have slight play, offside rear handbrake binding, ball joints loose and play in inner rack joints.

I know that it is technically MOT exempt but would want to sort these to ensure that everything is compliant and so i know its properly road worthy.

I'm just trying to work out what you guys would estimate is a good price and how much it would be worth as well. Looking to get this for my dad now that he has retired he has a massive urge to get back into the mini scene and enjoy the joy of driving  mini again.

Look forward to hearing people's feedback on what the car maybe worth.

Thanks

Lucas

None of those MOT things are expensive to fix, nothing mechanical on a mini really is, but definitely use that as a bargaining tool! The value of that car will be entirely dependent on what sort of condition it’s in so it’s hard to tell, but generally £4000 is a very good price for a solid mini. Can you link an advert to it?

I don't think you fully read my post as i said that I'm in the early stages of negotiating a price, the old gentleman hasn't got it for sale anywhere he wasn't even thinking of selling it until I saw it and asked if he would potentially sell it
