Hi, I'm a retired attorney in Saskatchewan.  I've had three prior minis (2 Austin Coopers, one Mini 1000) snd have just indulged myself buy purchasing a '96 Rover Mini Cooper SPI, Japan export.  I'm pretty handy mechanically but trying to find specific info on the SPI.

Hey up in Canada

I'm not retired just yet but getting closer every year !  I have a Spi too.  Does yours run good, need any work doing or is it going fine.  I imagine you will need some thin oil for winter starting up there.

It runs very well although I need to get the air conditioning working.  I miss the rear windows that open out.  I'm not sure what oil I will use in the winter.  I got it in February but didn't drive it until the temps got higher.  We'll see.  My other minis drove well in the winter without any different oil. (2 in Toronto, one out here...35 years ago.)  I think that if I do use in the winter I will want studded tires at the front.  I haven't started to look for those yet.
