Hi All,
New to the site following my recent purchase of a 1999 Paul Smith LE.
I’m a novice mechanic so hoping to use the forum to find solutions to all the different problems I will encounter along the way of MINI ownership.

Welcome aboard and nice car! I remember a friend having a Paul Smith around the same time I had my Sport LE. Never seen one with a Sportpack before.

Optional extra from what Ive read, not really that popular amongst the purists, but I'm a fan (quelle surprise).

Likewise - I always thought the sportpack looked better on cars with a body coloured roof.

Thanks. Yes I actually prefer the sports pack on it so was pleased to find one. Makes it more rare I suppose.

Agree its not totally original spec but i suppose it makes it more rare. 

I'm pleased to hear it might be an optional extra from factory as wasn't sure if it was added later.

I've got quite a bit of history with it, which doesn't show it as a modification later in life.
