Not really a viable option for most road cars.

So would that be a no then, just currently do not have £250 to spend on a boot floor. May have to wait until the funds are available. Has anyone replaced the floor with a sheet of steel and seen any issues with MOT or structural issues?

Theres a LOT of sva talk no different in my opinion to putting a patch on a cill or a floor or a crap quality repair panel the way its going everyone will be using only heritage panels for fear of the sva its not original so does that need an sva ??its a grey area no one knows but the old mini with a flat floor is stil on the road and passes mots every year

1,2 mm is a nice gauge to be able to get a good weld on its also what the bulkhead is made from my project that i bought of a mate he made his own full floor with strengthening ribs theyre yet to be fitted but they came with the project and they are 1.2 mm there is no movement in them very solid

looks great.
I also did a search and alot of coments for 0.9mm, i ordered a 1000x500 from a auction site today. that should be enough to start with.
thanks

0.9 is the general thickness of the outer bodywork and floors but if replacing the boot floor i would go a little heavier gauge or put a few strengthening ribs in the panel to stop it drumming and add stiffness because of the shape of the centre of the original panel altho thin steel its quite stiff due to the shape [guess who got a new all singing and dancing verniers yesterday] lol
