Drill the hole in the casting. The two tapped holes are already present. 5minute job.

What year of car? I will assume pre 90... if so the threads should be there for the small studs, just drill the large hole in the centre

He mentions SPI in title and post so I will assume it's 94-96

Hi 93 SPI engine head is already fitted and torqued up by engine builder so wouldn't want to get any swarf in the water jacket or radiator ( threads are in for the valve but blanked off), just wondered if I can go from the two heaters hoses one hose to the heater valve that is floating second hose to manifold then  to the sandwich plate take off and use a CLASSIC MINI - RADIATOR BOTTOM HOSE FOR 1275cc Minis with an HIF Carb - GRH115instead of trying to use the SPI bottom hose which has an extra take off
