Hi All,
Just returned from a great trip around the Western Isles but had a little mishap on the ferry back to Oban. whilst driving up the ramp something caught the exhaust and tore it clean off! There followed a fairly loud trip back to Elgin to load the car back on the trailer to return to Wiltshire where I am now faced with replacing it. The break occurred unsurprisingly at the flexible joint at the bottom of the down pipe but the question I have is what are my options for a replacement system? I've looked at and priced up standard ones from the likes of Somerford (conveniently 15 minutes walk away!) and so on but whilst I want to retain some semblence of originality I would consider a stainless system if a 'standard' one existed. Anyone know if there is such a thing
I should add that the ferry company have offered to cover 'reasonable cost' of a replacement exhaust which, considering they (and probably all ferry operators) make it quite clear that they take no responsibility for any damage that may occur, I think is pretty generous.
Cheers all,
Richard (and Heather!)
