Hi there! Looking for some advice after reading some posts.

Two years ago I bought a coil for my 1973 Mk3 850 with ignition points, all the car being quite original ---> Lucas DLB101 non ballast. Worked perfect.

Last year after the old engine died I decided to upgrade the car a bit and went for a 998 +0.20 A+ flat piston engine, Stage2 and Hif38 with AAA, also with a new 59D4 electronic distrubutor. But previous coil and condenser were kept...

Is this the best coil option for me now or should I upgrade or change something for better performance?

Any comment appreciated

Should be fine mate essentially any 12v coil set up correctly will be more then ample. I’m still running with ballast...

As above but use the best quality parts.

Depends, is your Type 59 converted to electronic or is it one of Lucas's own with external, and separate, amplifier?

If it is a factory version:

You need a GCL143 or equivalent, same as you would with a 65DM4.

...and the amplifier, of course

I think some of the older aftermarket kits ( Lumenition? ) use a ballasted coil, and were supplied with an actual resistor for the ballast.

Just noticed you mentioned a condenser, which rules out the factory unit pictured  >_<
