I have checked voltage across the bulb 0v
I have checked checked voltage at the terminal where it plugs into the dash 0v.
I have checked the voltage at the switch=12v.
I am probably going to try and run a new wire from the switch to the dash. However is there anything else I should be checking? I have checked the wiring diagram, and I am not aware of any fuses related to this circuit.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Right, im looking at the Rover wireing diagram , does your oil pressure switch have 1 terminal / wire?
Shows Live fed from LF7 10A, goes through the the bulb then through the switch to ground.
If you have 12V at the switch ( White and brown wire ) then bulb is good, issues is a bad switch.

Sounds like a bad switch to me. With the engine off and the ignition on disconnect the wire from the oil pressure switch and earth it - the light should illuminate - if it does, bad switch.
