Best Answer cal844 , 07 July 2019 - 07:46 PM

At my local garage we usually use cable ties around the exhaust mount rubbers to raise the exhaust closer to the floor.... Go to the full post

Is it just me or are standard mini exhausts a rubbish fit?!!

Hi Guys,

I've just fitted a complete standard system from down pipe to tail pipe and have to say, I'm not impressed with the fit. I know all you can get now is aftermarket but is this normal?

The mounting at the back was about 5" away from the mount on the car and needed to be bent to fit and the whole thing hangs quite low underneath. To be fair I don't know what the original one looked like because it was ripped off by a CalMac ferry a couple of weeks ago but really?

Anyway, moan over, hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Richard.

That's an aftermarket standard system, it will always need a little tweeking to fit. Nature of the beast! My playmini system sits perfectly. Did you also replace your exhaust rubbers at the same time?

Cheers Steve.
