Good morning all,
This is my first adventure into the world of mini forums and I'm looking for some advice and recommendations.
I purchased a 1999 cooper sport about 5 years ago. I've had some major work done to the engine and had the gearbox re built so mechanically we're all good. Unfortunately the car just failed it's MOT due to a crack and severe corrosion to the rear sub frame.
I'm looking for recommendations for some to replace the sub frame and undoubtedly complete some welding.
I live in Inverness but prepared to travel some distance 200ish.
Thanks for talking the time to read my thread and thanks for any advice.
Regards
Keith

Hi and welcome to TMF.
As long as you have a basic understanding of mechanics, some tools and a Haynes manual, changing the subframe is something you can do at home and will save you a chunk of change.
The only thing that will need some workshop assistance will be the radius arms IF there is play in them. But if not then happy days.
Spray plenty of a decent quality penetrating oil (not WD40 or GT85) on all of the bolts and nuts you can see. This will help immensely.
