So i am assuming the adapter works just have to ensure the rim of choice has clearance??

...and that's before even thinking about which nuts to use to screw them to the existing studs, and whether they have any way of centring them (if the nuts used can't perform that function)

If you've not chosen your wheels yet ... why not simply buy wheels with the correct pcd?

Yeah, I have some wheels in mind. I have seen them used once before but was unsure how they were able to mount them. they are 13x6 4x100 pattern with +38 offset.
I actually feel opposite, the wheels are limited with the current 4x4 options. Most minis i see have a variation of the same rims
