I'd say modify your car as you see fit.  Most modifications are reversible.  Just make sure you hang on to original parts if you remove them so the vehicle can be returned to original by you or a future owner.

Yeah that's exactly what i had planned, except some Mods are not possible to put back. Mk1 grille and rear lights would be permanent as changes to the rear body and bonnet would be needed.

You could swop grilles and change lights as many times as you liked.  Yes it's a lot of work but it can be done.  Ideally of course it's best to know what you want and only do it once!

I don't even know where to begin with mine! My love of cars started with American muscle and hotrods, which later spread to Japanese stuff, and then the modifying scene in general which I'm heavily involved in now. I love taking ideas from all types of car culture and adding them to the Mini. Mine is only a City E which I got as a bare shell, so it was like a blank canvass. I have a few more big mods up my sleeve for the future too!

Personnally I'm kind of permanently work in progress. I'm quite inspired by 2 things:
The café racer spirit from the 60s ans 70s in UK. I like the clean, light, lean and fast minis.
And another source of inspiration is definitly the "outlaw" movement from the Porsche fellows with works like the ones of Magnus Walker.

If you look at his work it's kinda inline with the café racer spirit. Apparently simple and lean with a strong attention to details.

That's what I am going for in my mini. It's a 91 Cooper 1380cc that was "Sportpacked" by the previous owner. It was 13y ago and i did not know much si I bought it anyway. Now I can't revert to 10'' but that's ok. My commitment to this car did not change.

Currently i am modifiying my car lightly to "add lightness" and with bits and pieces of Home made, hopefully high quality unique parts. Such as drilled bits and pieces here and there, custom light Weight doors, etc. I did share on the forum how I do those parts. Look for "Café Racer" on the forum.

I have some parts in that spirit from DSN Retrosport and Steveston MotorCo.

I will also add fiber and carbon bonnet if I find one that has sufficient quality. But it won't ne showing weave. It will be painted stock british red. :)

Anyway, not saying that's what Should be done. I like the diversity in minis! It's just m'y humble contribution :)

Cheers mates!
