Both wheels off the ground. The engine will do nothing. Go to the full post

I just finished installing a 1275A with Rod Change.

I had removed it as my differential blew a whole out the side with the planetary gears etc.

I replaced the differential with one from a spare engine.  Same FD, all complete.  I of course replaced gaskets and drive seals and rod seal....all the usual bits.
I got the engine running but noticed that #2 was not firing.  Did the usual things like swapping wired and plugs.  Still #2.
So I pull the valve cover and go to check valve clearance.....put the car in gear so I can just rotate the hub.  NOTHING !

The engine does not turn :(

Any suggestions as to what I have missed?  I'm gutted ( I think is the right Brit term ).  I had exhaust, steadies everything buttoned up.  Installing twin HS4 carbs with manifold as a set was a feat !

So how do you think the engine would move? You are moving the other wheel. Just put it on its wheels and in 4th plugs out and move the car the engine will move.

I just realised my blonde moment and logged in to mention that.  ( slaps forehead with hand )

Now to do a compression test on # 2.  May have a valve issue anyway
