I getting a reading of 2.6 on the primary and 8.7 k ohms on the secondary. Does the secondary sound too low?

Sounds normal to me, but then again ive gon through two of them in like 3 years... moved on 

 

Measured one of them - 2.8 primary 9.95k secondary let me check the other #

3 ohms primatry 11k secondary

I tested my other one yesterday and that's showing 7.7 k ohms secondary 2.8 ohms on primary! what the hell

haha, yea ive heard alot of people say they dont use lucas gold anymore. I wont however keep on on board as a spare.

Just bought a new coil and its a Lucas sports coil, tested it in the shop and 10.2 k ohms secondary, 3.0 ohms primary and its sorted out my issue.

See my article in the FAQs Electrical Section about Lucas Sports Coils, basically Lucas are no more and haven't been for lots of years, its just components made in the far east and those coils are a source of trouble  and Mini Spares stopped selling then a while back.

Unfortunately like a lot of things, either people buy the manufacturing rights to badge something it. Or falsely it.
