Hello,

I currently have a minispeed s/charger on my mini

Minispeed have gone bust.

I'd like to know if there is anyone/any specialist in the southeast (bucks/berks/london (I'm from High Wycombe)) who is available to fit a newer supercharger?

I'm not skilled enough to fit a new charger so I'm willing to pay someone who is confident in that sort of thing :-)

Ideally I'd like to have a vmax-scart unit fitted

Currently I can't get hold of Stuart at vmax - he's not responding for some reason.

Anyhoo - if there's anyone out there who can suggest a specialist / volunteer who can do this sort of thing then you'll make my year!!!

Thanks!

What’s up with the supercharger that you currently have?

As far as I’ve seen Mini Speed and vmax-scart both use/used the same Eaton M45 supercharger from the early BMW Cooper S.

There are variations in Teflon coated and uncoated rotors depending on the ago of car it’s from but there isn’t a great deal “new” about what vmax are doing as far as setup.

How have you tried to contact Stuart at VMAX? If by email, you've got no hope. ring him.

The car has been off the road for about 8 years and had all sorts of problems when it was put back on the road - the main one being that its lost it's performance 'edge'

Also the intake pipe to the s/charger has rusted so it could e breathing in rust.   Not good.

I wanted to get the new webber carb based s/charger kit from stuart at vmax but he's not answering his phone and not responding to Facebook (I've tried for weeks, after initially getting good contact from him)

I'm trying to get someone to replace the inlet pipe but there's some issue with how minispeed connected the pipe to the charger which has put people off.

If I can get someone to do the pipe then I could get someone to tune it.

Which leads me to another question - I guess....

Does anyone know a good tuner - rolling road set up in the area mentioned (west london/ north west london/ north london/ bucks/ berks) - perhaps that specialises in classics / minis?

When Stuart was responding he mentioned an ex-minispeed rolling roader in Surrey which could have been perfect (which is annoying considering lack of contact).

Any ideas would be gratefully welcome !

Thanks

Everything you want is at v-max. He does rolling roads on Thursdays. I would imagine he could sort your charger or swap in one of his.

I know they are hard to get in touch with but they have always eventually replied to my requests. Usually takes a week or 2. Might be worth a trip down after the holidays just for a face to face.

The car kitchen is the engine guy from minispeed that now runs his own business, I’m sure he’s done supercharger builds
