Are the holes in the primary gear next to where the lip seal seats there to let oil into the bushes or to allow it to be centrifuged out?

I've been wondering how oil manages to not travel through the bushes and emerge at the clutch.

They let Oil and 'hot gases' out.

The 'hot gases' are not really that hot, but as the Primary Gear heats up, the small amount of air (gas) inside the cavity, will want to go somewhere.

A few drops of oil (at most) does get in to the Front Bush via the slots in the thrust washer, usually when the engine has stopped.
