Hi fellow mini enthusiasts

I have just started the restoration in my 1971 Australian Mk2 Cooper S after it sitting in my shed for several years. All original numbers and lucky to have the sales handbook from the Perth dealer as well. It is in Tamarisk Green (not what I am repainting in!) with standard black interior. No mods other than mini lite wheels.

Compared to other bikes and cars I have restored the mini parts for resto look pretty cheap.

While I get I underway on the body I am keen to rebuild the 1275 but tweak it a bit if it will give me some extra ponies whilst using the genuine head and block. I have read David Vizards books but thought some of the members on here might be able to steer me in the right direction.

If there are any members that might be helpful in sharing their knowledge or suggested that would be great.

Thanks Richard

Hi, I've got a MK2 S and just rebuilt the engine.  I've gone quite gentle with the upgrades as I want it correct for the period and driveable.  happy to help answer any questions.

Paul
