Making the pushrod longer or bending the clutch arm will both improve a worn system, but don’t fix the cause of the issue.

The slave only has a certain range of movement, I guess ideally when new you’d only be using the inner range of the travel and as the system wears the travel would move towards the outer end of the slave.

Making the pushrod longer is not causing your problem.Taken to its extreme if the pushrod is long enough it will push the slave cylinder piston fully back and disengage the clutch without moving the clutch pedal.Careful examination of all parts is unfortunately on the cards.Good luck with this vexing problem.Steve..

You may have just touched on my problem here !

I actually made my push rod at the cylinder LONGER thinking this would help things.

In spring I will replace the plunger and look into the washer idea.

Too cold to work on things now unfortunately........April/May can't come soon enough!

Thank you @timmy850

they are doing exactly the same thing. but you need less addition at the bearing end as it is closer to the pivot.
