My '96 JDM Rover Mini Cooper has the AC.  I'm getting squealing from the belts when the AC is on and intent to check them to see if that's the problem.  Meanwhile, I wondered if these compressors (Unicla UPS 150) need any sort of periodic lubrication.  I've one out on the bench and can't see where any lubrication could be applied/inserted.

No air conditioning compressor requires external lubrication. The oil is carried internally and mixes freely with the refrigerant. It is only renewed or topped off when the refrigerant has been discharged.

If the compressor isn't removed, one must estimate the amount of lubricant required and add it while charging the system. If the compressor is removed, then the proper amount of oil can be added to the compressor after it's drained.
