Is there a "standard" way that an A-Series engine is mounted on an engine stand? I've only ever used my stand when rebuilding K-Series units which are mounted from the flywheel end, with the A-Series most seem to be mounted from the dizzy side but which drillings are used? Not sure whether it's relevant but it'll be an MPi that I'm working on.

The carb and SPI blocks are pretty easy to hold by using the alternator and oil filter housing bolts and making an adaptor plate. The MPI's look a bit more difficult to hold but you should be able to use four of the bolts on the front with an adaptor plate.
