The hose on the cover is not standard. Looks like a flexible brake hose where the cover has been drilled and then fixed to it.

I have a similar style cover from the 60-70s and they included a breather pipe on the top (yours appears to be a brake line like Jon stated). These were intended to connect to the air cleaner housing on carb cars. The injection cars have a pretty unique "sealed" breathing system for Minis. All the breathers feed back into the throttle body. You would have to find a way to splice into that system OR slap a filter on it and let it vent into the atmosphere. I think blocking it off and getting a new vented cap would be ideal though.
