This is the latest project, it's the mk1 that I imported from Portugal, at the moment pretty much as it came out of the factory except for an alternator conversion. It's a wet car and after driving it and loving the ride it's going to stay that way but with a front damper conversion, neg bottom arms and adjustable tie bars to sort the handling out.7.5 discs will make it stop rather than gently glide to a halt. The one big change will be the engine and box, that 850cc engine has got to go, the car has all the accelleration of a fully loaded super tanker. Luckily i have a BMW 16v head knocking about and some 1275 lower ends + a set of omega 1380 pistons. The gearbox will be a rod change with Cooper s ratios and a 2.9 diff. I still plan to keep it std looking inside so I'm going to cut down the rods and keep the magic wand type gear stick but will make a quick change ( thanks to Moke Spider for posting pics on another thread).
I'll post up once I get started which will probably be late this year, no doubt things will change as time goes on

Maybe do some research into it, pretty common modifcation.

As for why, maybe because its his car and he can do what he wants? How is it ******* up a mini? its a easily reversible mod if ever wanting to go original.

I’m glad you like the hydro suspension. They’re a really nice ride and front dampers with competition bump stops front and rear knock a bit of the rocking out of them.

The BMW head sounds like a good option. It should be a decent sleeper once it’s all together.

You’ve had a mare here, it’s a common engine mod and one of the best ones at that. It’s his mini also so go read a book and learn something

Well It’s not like they only made a dozen Mk1 Minis.

They’ve been modified the entire time they existed so do what you like as long as you do it well. At the end of the all the modified ones will make my standard ones worth more.
