Stumped. How do you make replacement breather pipes? 2 of the breather/fuel rail pipes on my SPI are passed their best and are no longer available. I bought breather pipe from Somerford and it’s the right gauge but I can’t find a way to recreate the tight bends that are needed.

I tried to use a heat gun but the best I can do to match it is my poor effort on the far right, i won’t have a hope in hell of making the one on the left! ?

Thx

You are not going to bend them with a heat gun. They were originally moulded to shape.

Options bend metal pipe and have rubber connectors. Find good used. Find some bends and cut and shut.

About 15 years ago I replicated a double bend one, ( when my wife went to the hairdresser )

I used a plumber's pipe bending spring, inserted in the rubber tube, then bent and wired it round a conveniently shaped piece of roof tile.

I immersed it in water in the roasting dish, and boiled it for a long 5 minutes on the cooker.

Using a spatula, I quenched the whole caboodle in a sink full of cold water.

If I did it again, I would exaggerate the bends by an extra 10%.
